Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM) was founded in 1959 by a small group of professionals with the objective of developing and promoting the profession of personnel management. The Institute was subsequently incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1976, and its name was amended by Act No. 31 of 2018 as the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).

CIPM Sri Lanka – the nation’s leader in human resource management, today signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sabaragamuwa University (SUSL), with the key objective of promoting and developing principles, techniques and practices of Human Resource Management. The partnership ensures acceptance of prior learning recognition /exemption plan for students from both Institutes.

World HR Congress (WHRC) Media Briefing

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) in collaboration with the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA) is proud and privileged to present you the world’s most premier people event, the World HR Congress (WHRC) on December 6th – 8th, 2021 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, as a virtual experience.   

Amid a planetary pandemic where people factor is in the pinnacle of limelight, we have aptly selected the theme: “Exalting People Professionals Amidst a Planetary Pandemic: Explore, Expand and Excel”. 

The media briefing of WHRC 2021 was held on 22nd October 2021 with the presence of electronic and print media personnel. 

Remarking and in line with the World Standards Day 2021 which falls on today CIPM Sri Lanka organized a Virtual Commemoration of World Standards Day 2021 and Commencement of CIPM Quality Month.
Every year World Standards Day has a specific theme dedicated to it and the theme for World Standard Day 2021 is ‘Standards for sustainable development goals- a shared vision for a better future’. 
Mr. Jayantha Amarasinghe – President CIPM, Council Members, Mr. U.A.C. Obeyesekere – Chief Executive Officer of CIPM,  Mr. G. Weerathunga – Director, Professional and Academic Affairs of CIPM, Head of the Departments & Staff of CIPM Sri Lanka and the Students of CIPM Sri Lanka participated to this virtual event.

The formal agreement between CIPM Sri Lanka and CIPD UK was ceremonially signed on 12th October 2021 virtually by Mr. Jayantha Amarasinghe, President – CIPM SL and Ms Victoria Winkler, Director Professional Development – CIPD UK with the participation of representatives from CIPD UK, Council Members of CIPM SL and CEO & Managerial staff of CIPM SL.
