JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Manager Research and Development drives the CIPM vision, mission, values, and goals by achieving strategic goals, objectives, and targets set out in the strategic plan by the council and the standing committee. Plan and manage the below mentioned objectives to achieve the KPI’s for self and the team to fulfill the overall expectations of the executive council and stakeholders of CIPM.

  • Publication of the HRM Perspectives journal.
  • Conduct the Annual Research Symposium.
  • Establish the applied Research Centre at CIPM
  • Conduct research needs analysis among corporate, and public institutions, and facilitate/conduct the HR related applied research to stakeholders.
  • Conducting dialogues with industry experts and apply for research grants from such local and international agencies.
  • Develop strong affiliations with universities, professional bodies, and other research organizations, local and overseas
  • Conduct research seminars and workshops.
  • Assist in developing the annual department budget and ensure that expenses are managed in line with the budget.
  • Administer the applied research and PhD grant schemes and coordinate the publication of scholarly articles on HR research.

 

EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

 

Candidate should have a post-graduate qualification: MSc/MBA or a MPhil from a recognized University in HRM or in a related discipline. Candidate should have a research component in the academic qualifications.

Those having published in reputed journals, and conference proceedings are preferred

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Should be engaged in similar work with managerial capacity for at least three (3) years. Experience in similar work with industry exposure is preferred.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Good command of English with excellent communication, and interpersonal skills

The Job

  • Prepare & maintain consultancy related correspondences such as, initial discussion, preparing draft proposals, collecting feedback forms, preparation of budgets, invoicing, taking and drafting minutes and coordination activities with respective Consultants and Clients.
  • Plan and prepare consultancy related correspondences such as taking and drafting minutes and coordinating activities with respective stakeholders.
  • Coordination with respective committee members on consultancy and HR services matters.
  • Regularly search and locate potential consultancy and service opportunities in the print and other media.
  • Assist to consultancy and HR services related to promotional work with the coordination of marketing division.
  • Liaising with regional centers and arrange and conduct HR services related activities.
  • Responsible for quality compliance and adhering to ISO 9001: 2015 standards.
  • Conduct HR Services initiated by the Committee or Council

 

The Person

  • The candidate should be able to manage the Consultancy and HR Services function independently.
  • Degree or professional qualification in Marketing/ Management obtained from a recognized university or institution accepted by CIPM.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar capacity.
  • An excellent command in both English & Sinhala Languages.
  • Ability to take initiatives and leadership to complete the assigned tasks with minimum supervision.
  • The ideal candidate should be of self-motivated, organized with a ‘’can-do ‘’attitude.

  • Organize seminars/workshops/public programs to meet the demands of the corporate clients.
  • Coordinate all In-House customized training programs and ensure timely delivery of the same.
  • Coordinate and assist to promote corporate trainings among stakeholders.
  • Take initiatives to promote the CIPM corporate training to potential corporate clients.
  • Liaising with relevant stake holders in the education and training industry, to explore opportunities for business expansion.
  • Assist in execution of new market strategies and ensure the achievement of budgets.

The Job

  • To attend and ensure daily IT Operations meet organizational requirements.
  • System and Network connectivity (LAN, WAN, and VPN) & Administration
  • Configuration and Maintenance of Hardware (Computers -Desktop PC & Laptop, Printers, Scanners…etc.) and Software (Operating systems & Application Software)
  • Troubleshooting a variety of computer issues, system issues, and Network Issues.
  • Monitor and report systems and network performances
  • Be responsible for Lecture Hall Maintenance and maintain the lecture hall it checklist.
  • Be responsible for providing technical support to CIPM Events seminars & workshops, and any other special internal and external events.
  • Systems / Networks implementations and Monitoring in remote locations (Regional Centers)
  • Coordinate with the service providers for the hardware and software requirements and relevant maintenance.
  • Update status reports of all IT Hardware and Network Resources
  • Monitoring System and Data Backup Daily
  • Update and Maintain IT Inventory

 

The Person

  • Diploma in Computer Hardware / Networking /ICT or Equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 1-year Experience in relevant field or IT Assistant.
  • Ability to work during the weekend
  • Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and work long hours when necessary, accomplish tasks with frequent interruptions and met deadlines.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to build close working relationships, interact with team members to find collaborative, team-driven solutions to problems.

Job Profile

  • Coordinate and execute the study programmes of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (CIPM) for the Kandy Regional Centre.
  • Attend to all student requirements and address external and internal customer requirements effectively and efficiently.
  • Be the focal point for students enquiries  and enrollments.
  • Provide support to implement the Marketing plan for the Kandy Regional Centre.
  • Provide support to organize seminars and workshops, to promote various studyprogrammes and training programmes.
  • Produce reports to management and ensure programmes are delivered according to the standards defined by the institution.
  • Willingness to work during weekends.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Full or part professional qualification in Marketing or Business Management from a recognized Institute.
  • Experience in the educational industry would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to use MS Office package effectively.
  • Ability to negotiate and convince students to enroll for CIPM Study programmes.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Sinhala
