Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM) was founded in 1959 by a small group of professionals with the objective of developing and promoting the profession of personnel management. The Institute was subsequently incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1976, and its name was amended by Act No. 31 of 2018 as the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).

Revolutionizing the HR Profession

The meeting was held among CIPM and the Ministry of Labour to conduct a National Survey on Labour Demand. At this meeting, two national-level research project reports conducted by CIPM on ‘Female Migrant Domestic Workers: Challenges and Prospects in Sri Lankan Perspective’ and ‘Attracting Sri Lankan Youth to Technical and Vocational Education: The Way Forward’ were handed over to the Hon. Labour Minister Manusha Nanayakkara by CIPM President Mr. Ken Vijayakumar and Chairperson of the Research Committee Prof. Prasadini Gamage.

Tax Forum 2023

CIPM is happy to announce that the President of CIPM SL, Mr. Ken Vijayakumar participated as a panel member to express his view at the “Tax Forum 2023” organized by SLIM Research Bureau held on 21st February 2023 from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm at the Kingsbury Hotel, with the participation of His Excellency the President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Keynote speaker. 

  The Vice President CIPM SL, Hony. Treasurer, a few council members, and the CEO of CIPM SL attended to the forum. 

MOU between CIPM and KIU

The Nation’s Leader in HRM, The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (CIPM), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Faculty of Management, KAATSU International University Sri Lanka (KIU) on 10th February 2023 at CIPM HR House.  
This was signed for the betterment of the KIU undergraduates pursuing their studies in the field of Human Resource Management. Both parties will reap more benefits through this academic-professional collaboration. 

The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Ken Vijayakumar – President, CIPM Executive Council, Mr. Priyankara Seneviratne – Honorary Secretary, CIPM Executive Council, Col. S. Jayawickrama (Retired) – Honorary Treasurer, CIPM Executive Council, Mr. UAC Obeysekere – Chief Executive Officer, Mr. G Weerathunge – Director – Professional & Academic Affairs, Ms. Himali Dasanayake – Director Operations and CIPM Staff participated in the ceremony. 

Representing the KIU Dr. Nadeeka Ranadeeva – Deputy Vice-Chancellor of KIU, with the participation of Dr.S.C.L.Samarasekara – Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Management, Ms. Nirmani Samarakoon – Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Mr. Chamara Lakmal Weerathunga – Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Harshani Weerasinghe – Senior Assistant Registrar, Heads of the Departments of Faculty of Management, Academic Staff and the Students.

MoU with CA Sri Lanka

Two pioneer Chartered bodies namely CIPM Sri Lanka and CA Sri Lanka signed a historic MoU on 3rd February 2023 at the CA Sri Lanka head office, for the betterment of their respective members and the country as a whole. 

The agreement was signed by CIPM President Mr. Ken Vijayakumar and CA Sri Lanka President Mr. Sanjaya Bandara. 

Colonel Saman Jayawickrama, Hony Treasurer and Mr. UAC Obeyesekere, Chief Executive Officer represented CIPM while Mr. Laknath Jayawickrema, Council Member, Ms. Dulani Fernando, CEO, Ms. Niroshi Siriwansa, Head of Business School represented CA Sri Lanka.
