Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM) was founded in 1959 by a small group of professionals with the objective of developing and promoting the profession of personnel management. The Institute was subsequently incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1976, and its name was amended by Act No. 31 of 2018 as the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka and General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University (KDU) formally executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 17, 2024, at the Vice Chancellor’s Office, KDU. This significant accord marks a historic milestone for both institutions, fostering the expansion of educational opportunities and the exploration of new horizons for students. Moreover, the MOU catalyses enhanced collaboration, knowledge exchange, and broader access to academic and professional resources.

Representing KDU at the MOU signing ceremony were Rear Admiral H.G.U. Dammika Kumara, Vice Chancellor; Prof. K. A. S. Dhammika, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics; Dr Ms L. Liyanage, Dean, Faculty of Management, Social Sciences & Humanities; Ms D. D. Lokuge, Head of the Department of Management and Finance; and other academic staff.

Mr. Saman Jayawickkrama, Honorary Secretary represented the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka; Air Vice Marshal Mr Manoj Keppetipola, Honorary Editor; Mr Harendra Hewakuruppu, Council Member; Mr U. A. C. Obeyesekere, Chief Executive Officer; Mr Sujeewa Perera, Manager Examination; and Mr Ravindu Sachintha, Assistant Manager, Professional and Academic Affairs.

This collaborative initiative symbolises a commitment to mutual growth and underscores the shared vision of both organisations in advancing education and professional development.

A CPD session on HRM in a BANI World: Strategies for Sustainability for CIPM Members is happening now at the CIPM Auditorium conducted by Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Chartered Fellow of CIPM Sri Lanka.

CIPM_MOU with AIHR

CIPM Sri Lanka entered into a historic agreement with AIHR (Academy to Innovate HR) Netherlands on 12th January 2023 to empower HR professionals in Sri Lanka and Asian Region to unlock their potential and innovate how HR is practiced through self-paced online training programs with attractive discounts. 

The MOU was signed electronically by the CIPM President Mr. Ken Vijayakumar and Partner Program Manager of AIHR Mr. Nyasha Mupfumi. 

The event was graced by the CIPM President, Mr. Ken Vijayakumar, Vice President of CIPM, Hony. Secretary of CIPM, Hony. Treasurer of CIPM, Members of the Executive Council of CIPM, Chairman of the Standing Committee of PMS, Members of Standing Committee on PMS, CEO of CIPM, HOD’s and staff of CIPM.

 

CIPM’s Annual Prith Chanting and Multi-Religious Ceremony 2023 was held on January 04, 2023 followed by ’Heel Daanaya’ on the following day ( Thursday) at CIPM premises.

Starting the New Year with Prith Chanting is truly blessed. The President of CIPM Mr. Ken Vijayakumar, The members of the CIPM Executive Council, Past Presidents, Members of the Committees, CEO, and the staff of CIPM attended the event.

With the improved exterior elegance with the Colour washing of the CIPM building was also highlighted at the event.
