As the Nation’s Leader in HRM, CIPM Sri Lanka initiated CEOs’ Voice in January 2022, creating a platform for the country’s corporate leaders to contribute towards Nation-Building by way of sound advice, insights, and suggestions with a view to steering Sri Lanka emerge as a dominant force in the South Asian region.
The second episode of CEO’s Voice was conducted on 10th March 2022, by bringing in two of the leading and most respected professionals in the nation. Shiromal Cooray – Chairman & Managing Director of Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd, Chairman of Jetwing Hotels Ltd & Suren Fernando – Chief Executive Officer of MAS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd to share their mastery on “Way Forward for Sri Lanka”.
Vavuniya Campus, affiliated with Jaffna University, was declared a separate University by the Government from 01st August 2021. Vavuniya University signed its first MOU with a prominent professional organization in Sri Lanka, i.e. the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management CIPM, on 28 February 2022. Vice-Chancellor Dr. T. Mangaleswaran, Dr. Y. Nanthagoban – Dean of Faculty of Business Studies and many other academic and non-academic staff members and students participated in this event. Honorary Treasurer and Council Member Mr. Jayantha Abeyratne, Council Member Col. Saman Jayawikrama & Chief Officer / Director Professional and Academics G.Weerathunga represented CIPM SL. The First Vice-Chancellor of Vavuniya University is also a Corporate Members of CIPM.
The Great HR Quiz 2022 organized by CIPM Sri Lanka is the only quiz dedicated to the Human Resource Management fraternity to uplift the knowledge and capacity of human resource professionals, concluded on a high note with Ansell Lanka (Pvt) Ltd winning the Overall CIPM Great HR Quiz 2022 Champions Trophy, Sunshine Consumer Lanka claiming the 1st Runner-up Trophy and Seylan Bank PLC winning the 2nd Runner-up Trophy.
The Great HR Quiz 2022 which was held for the Sixth time is a much looked forward event by the HR fraternity which is organized by CIPM Sri Lanka – The Nation’s Leader in Human Resource Management in its quest to building knowledge and capacity in the field of Human Resource Management and in developing globally competitive human resource professionals. The Quiz was held on Friday, 25th February at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo.
48 teams representing the public and private sector companies participated in the event which was organized as a ‘Live Table’ quiz with a unique digital response device placed on the tabletop for each team to respond to the quiz master’s questions.
Senior Professor Sampath Amaratunge graced the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. Jayantha Amarasinghe – President CIPM, Office bearers and members of the executive council of CIPM, Past Presidents of CIPM and the Senior Management and the staff of CIPM also participated in this event.
Mr. Janaka Kumarasinghe, Mr. Dhammika Fernando and Mr. Vajira Ellepola held the responsible position as the panel of judges while Professor Ajantha Dharmasiri held the Quiz Master’s position.
