On 10th July 2024, CIPM inaugurated “The Gallery of Heritage,” a pivotal addition to its esteemed legacy established in 1959. The ceremony was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, Incumbent President Mr. Ken Vijayakumar, his Council, and several distinguished Past Presidents.
This museum underscores CIPM’s unwavering commitment to preserving its cultural heritage and celebrating its remarkable achievements. It provides an invaluable opportunity to explore the organization’s significant contributions and serves as an educational resource for future generations.
Situated on the 5th floor of HR House, “The Gallery of Heritage” is devoted to preserving and exhibiting CIPM’s rich history and cultural heritage, offering an inspiring glimpse into the organization’s storied past.
CIPM awarded the Gold Medal to Ms. Perera B.S., a student at National School of Business Management, during the graduation ceremony held in NSBM Auditorium on December 11, 2023. Ms. Perera excelled as the Most Outstanding Student in Human Resource Management (HRM) stream, achieving this remarkable feat in the BSc in Business Management (Human Resource Management) program at the Convocation of NSBM.
Furthermore, in recognition of her outstanding achievements, Ms. Perera was granted a scholarship to pursue the Chartered Intermediate of Human Resource Management (CIHRM) program offered by CIPM. This initiative is part of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between NSBM and CIPM, which aims to foster the development of best HR practices in Sri Lanka.
Mr. Chrisanthao Obesekere, Chief Executive Officer, CIPM SL and Mr. Sujeewa Perera, Manager of the Examination Department, proudly represented CIPM SL at this event. Congratulations to Ms. Perera on her well-deserved accomplishments.
The Fireside Chat that happened on 09.12.2023 was a resounding success. The President of CIPM, Mr. Ken Vijayakumar and the Vice President, Mr. Priyantha Ranasinghe led a dynamic and insightful engaging conversation. The success of this Fireside Chat was made possible by the virtual participation of the corporate members and physical participation of the members of the Executive Council, Past Presidents of CIPM, Mr. U.A.C. Obeyesekere (CEO of CIPM), Mr. Ajith R De Costa, Mr. Rohitha Amarapala and Prof. Ajantha Dharamasiri and the HODs of CIPM.
Mr. Vijayakumar provided valuable insights into the current activities of CIPM and shared his vision for the future. A special thank you to Mr. Priyantha Ranasinghe, Vice President of CIPM, for moderating the session skillfully and ensuring a smooth flow of the conversation.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management set up another milestone on 8 December 2023 with the launch of the Examiner Competency Framework. This progressive initiative by CIPM aims to improve the quality of its graduates further by strengthening the assessment process of the study programs that CIPM offers. The ECF program is focused on developing the competencies of the examiner pool of CIPM.
The launching ceremony, which was held at CIPM HR House Auditorium, was graced by the President of CIPM, Mr. Ken Vijayakumar, and Vice President of CIPM, Mr. Priyantha Ranasinghe; Honorary Secretary of CIPM, Col. Saman Jayawickrama, Chairperson – Professional, Academic Affairs Technical Committee, Dr Heather Fernando, Chief Executive Officer of CIPM Mr. U.A.C Obeyesekere, Director of Professional and Academic Affairs Mr. G. Weerathunga, Director Operations Ms. Himali Dassanayake, ECF Lead Resource Person Dr Rasika Priyankara, Council Members, Members of the Professional Academic Affairs Technical Committee and lecturers and examiners of CIPM.
